by Ethanie Walentuk and Alan Buck
Tom Lipscomb is an educator and entrepreneur who owns a video production company in Greensboro. He makes videos for corporate clients as well as documentaries and feature length films born of his own creativity. Tom Lipscomb Productions is housed on Walker Avenue, just steps away from UNCG’s Broadcasting and Cinema Department from which he received his MFA in 1997.
This case study was conducted in October 2008 by Ethanie Walentuk and edited by Alan Buck, both were News and Documentary majors in the Media Studies Department. Their work was supported by a special grant from Dr. Timothy Johnston, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences.
These case studies were compiled and archived as part of the former BELL (Building Entrepreneuruial Learning for Life) Program's Entrepreneurial Innovation in the Arts (EIA) initiative to provide a library of examples of how artists in many different fields have achieved success. The cases were researched and written by UNCG students.
